Vegas mayor down on Rainbow Six
The mayor of Las Vegas, Oscar Goodman, wants to put a stop to the latest Rainbow Six game.
Why? He says the Vegas-based anti-terrorism game is based on a "false premise" and "could be harmful economically, and it may be something that's not entitled to free speech (protection)... I will ask... whether or not we can stop it."
Some of the Vegas money men are concerned with financial matters, the MGM Mirage is investigating whether any of its trademarks or other IP are infringed by the game.
Meanwhile Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority spokesman Alan Feldman said, "I'm confident that the general public can distinguish between what's reality and what's fiction."
Vegas is a city widely depicted on TV (CSI anyone), movies and novels as the whore-mongering, mob-run, crime capital of the nation and the mayor is worried about a game where players kill terrorists. Let's not forget Nick Cage smashing a plane onto the strip in Con Air.
At the time of writing, Mayor Goodman had not viewed any footage of the game in action.
