THQ retains Homeworld rights
Raising hopes of a proper Relic-developed Homeworld 3.
The excellent 3D space realtime strategy game may get a long-awaited sequel after all. Today Shacknews reports that THQ has gained the rights to the series from Vivendi Universal in August.
THQ now owns the developer of the original game Relic Entertainment and so the way is now open for a proper sequel by the creator of the series.
Relic created Homeworld in 1997 for Sierra Online, which later became part of Vivendi, the publisher retaining the rights to the game. Meanwhile THQ bought Relic in 2004.
