Unreal II: Special Edition due soon

Unreal II: Now with added multiplayer

Apparently unable to stop flogging a dead horse Atari have announced that Unreal II: The Awakening - Special Edition will be released later this month, in the US at least. The Special Edition will contain the original single player game and the new XMP (extended multiplayer) mode - apparently “a class-based multiplayer game where teams use vehicles, cooperation and Unreal II: The Awakening's devastating weaponry to battle it out across large-scale terrain maps."

To be fair the XMP mode does actually sound fairly interesting, but anyone that bought the original version of Unreal II will be able to obtain that as a free download. As an appetiser though we've got a demo of XMP which you can download from Boomtown by clicking here.
