Legend might have shut its doors, but Unreal II is anything but dead.

When Unreal II: The Awakening hit the shelves last year many gamers were disappointed by the limited durability of the game. Not only was the single player a bit on the short side, there weren't any multiplayer options either.

Luckily, Atari admitted the problem and instructed developer Legend Entertainment to work on a free multiplayer add-on for Unreal II. And so, XMP (Expanded Multiplayer) was born!

After this, things started getting weird at Atari. Even though XMP was well received by the community, Atari closed the doors on Legend and support for Unreal II and XMP was dropped.

The community however decided it wasn't time for Unreal II to die just yet. In their free time the old Legend chaps worked on one last patch. And that's not all, several talented members of the community started on the XMP Community Bonus Pack.

The XMP Community Bonus Pack features:

  • 10 new maps: XMP-CBP-Apophis, XMP-CBP-Asunder, XMP-CBP-Emerald, XMP-CBP-Hell, XMP-CBP-Islands, XMP-CBP-Kaminari, XMP-CBP-Naularn, XMP-CBP-WinterGarden, XMP-CBP-Wonderwoods and XMP-CBP-Xaemia
  • 7 mutators: ArtifactPowers, KickIdlers, SuicideRaptors, Summoner, XMPMusic, XMPTE and XMP IRC Reporter

Now, the work on the XMP Community Bonus Pack is done. The full version is ready and is just waiting for you to download and play!

The XMP Community Bonus Pack can be downloaded right here from Boomtown by clicking here. If own a copy of Unreal II but haven't tried XMP yet, you can download the main program for free here.
