Mortal Kombat fighters enter Unreal Championship 2
Beat 'em up characters in a major shooting game? Well they can certainly dish out the damage...
Midway have announced that a few Mortal Kombat kontestants (I guess that's how it's spelled!) will feature in Epic's melee combat-enhanced Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict.
Midway have recently secured the publishing rights to the Unreal series, previously owned by Atari, leading to this strange partnership of characters. There's no word yet as of which Mortal Kombat characters will make the transition, but rumour has it that those included will be able to use their special finishing moves on their gun-slingin' opponents.
This will certainly spark the "who is stronger" debate, when the Mortal Kombat characters go up against the Unreal natives. Ripping out your enemy's spine or frag him to pieces with a rocket launcher? Now you'll apparently have all the options...
Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict is due out for Xbox early next year and will support Live as well as system link. The game will have a third-person camera to facilitate melee combat.
