Will Infiltration stay Unreal?
Plans for a next-gen Infiltration game have been unveiled
Infiltration is one of the best modifications you can get for the original Unreal Tournament. The mod features a realistic gameplay combined with loads of contents, ranging from a huge arsenal of real life weaponry and an abundance of maps.
Recently, the Infiltration team posted information on its homepage about a new upcoming next-gen Infiltration game. Whether the team will stick with the Unreal engine or switch to Half-Life 2, has yet to be decided.

Sentry Studios is currently working on the design and framework for its next release for one of the currently available post-UT99 engines, particularly promising are UT2K4 and Half Life 2. There has not been a definite engine decision yet as some of the hot candidates having been released in the last few months, there is more research to be done before a final decision will be made.
The gameplay of this new game is going to be a realism-infantry-FPS with all the goodness that modern engines have to offer. Vehicles are going to be in featured, but they are going to be limited to the supporting roles that exist in modern infantry scenarios. Don't expect to be seeing 5-on-5 helicopter battles, or any real armor-on-armor battles.
Also, do not expect an endless supply of these costly toys...if you break it, you lose it. We are currently finalizing our design guides that are meant to ensure we keep everything that made the original Infiltration great. We are also including many features that were not possible with previous engines.
