Inglourious Basterds

Just back from watching this disturbing movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it even if I did cringe in places when it had its quick flashes of uber-violence.
I thought the script was Tarantino at his finest and the actor who stole the show for me was without a doubt Christoph Waltz who played Col. Hans Landa of the SS. He was nothing short of brilliant-funny and very dangerous.
Overall a very entertaining movie full of well written nonsense but not for everybody.
8/10

Re: Inglourious Basterds

Not seen it yet - the arrival of Baby Will making cinema trips a rare thing now. But I'd like to - even though I think Tarantino has actually made one good film.

Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs?

Re: Inglourious Basterds

The former. I saw RD when it was released and wasn't overly keen. I feel QT is very good at aping pulp styles of movie genres past - but still really hasn't found a visual vocabulary of his own as a director.

Re: Inglourious Basterds

Pulp Fiction is by far his best. It would be a difficult thing to better such a classic. However, IB is still worth a look.

Re: Inglourious Basterds

If ever there was a deserving premise for a GTA-type clone this is it.  I was floored when I first saw the trailer several months ago, and searches did not reveal any game in progress based on this film.  A potential One-More-Nazi-Killer that I would buy in a heartbeat.

Edit;  Not that its important, but 10-03-09 is the date I reset my forgotten password... join date was several years past with many posts to my credit.   O.o
